The Advising and Career Exploration Services (ACES) office is the academic advising home for any student at UW-Platteville who is undecided about a major. ACES advisors help students select courses that meet the General Education requirements so that students stay on track for graduation while deciding on a major.

Students who are exploring majors or thinking about changing majors should begin the career planning process by talking with an ACES advisor. We can help students link their skills, interests, values, and personality styles to potential majors or career areas.

Deciding and choosing an academic major and career is a process. You need to make a commitment to gather information, learn about yourself and different careers, and explore classes and work experiences that will assist you in making a confident major and career decision.

The ACES office can provide you with:

  • Personal advising sessions
  • Personal career exploration sessions
  • Referrals to other campus resources
  • Classroom/group presentations
  • Residence hall programs on advising or career topics (call 608.342.1033 to arrange)
