Opening in Fall of 2013, Bridgeway Commons will be home to approximately 440 students. Students in Bridgeway Commons will live in two-bedroom suites where four people share a bathroom and shower. Bridgeway Commons will be the home to the campus' all you care to eat dining facility, located on the lower level. Residents will enjoy numerous amenities throughout the building which include high speed internet access in every bedroom and elevator access to all floor levels. The entire building is air conditioned and each suite is fully furnished. Each of the floors will have a kitchen, lounge and laundry facilities. Other public areas include the main desk, mailroom, lobby areas, multipurpose rooms, recreation room, coffee shop and fireplace. Bridgeway Commons will host the Healthy Living Interest Community, with programming toward personal wellness. Bridgeway Commons will remain open during the official academic year breaks.

FROM THE DESK OF THE RESIDENT DIRECTOR

Welcome to the new web page for Bridgeway Commons, the newest residence hall that will open fall of 2013. The Department of Residence Life is excited to add this residence hall to our fleet. Bridgeway Commons is currently being constructed and will be home to 440 residents next year. This building will also be home to the all you care to eat dining facility for campus as well as the healthy living and learning community. As the RD for Bridgeway Commons next year, I am excited about all the possibilities that will come to life next year.

Bridgeway Commons will have 14 RA’s and 1 SA. I am confident that the future staff in this building will be able to help foster and create a great community and partner with offices across campus to bring students phenomenal programming centered on healthy living. This building, designed around feedback from students, will provide a semi suite living arrangement where 4 students share a private bathroom. Throughout the building, students will also have great spaces for socializing, relaxing, studying, and dinning.

We are excited to begin preparing and planning for next fall. The first step in that process is our RA staff selection and our Room Reservation process. Please reference our web site for information about the how to sign up to live Bridgeway Commons. If you should have any questions, please contact your RA, SA, or RD.

Again, I am excited about the opportunities that this building will provide you-our students, and I look forward to being the RD of Bridgeway Commons next year.
