Technology Education and other middle and high school teachers who are interested in using woodturning as part of their curriculum will enjoy this six-week hands-on course. This course is designed for beginners or those who have done some turning but would like a better understanding of the basics. We will cover theories of woodturning, health and safety considerations, equipment selection, tool selection, wood preparation, form and design, mounting the wood and tool sharpening combined with hands-on experience. You will have a chance to turn a few projects, reinforcing the techniques being taught. Possible projects include a carver mallet, honey dipper, bracelet holder and bowls. All equipment and wood is provided.
