University Counseling Services Advisory Board

University Counseling Services (UCS) has developed an advisory group on the topic of mental health awareness on campus. The main purpose of this advisory group is to provide a venue for students, faculty and staff to offer feedback and suggestions regarding UCS marketing and services. This year, the advisory board is focused on reducing mental health stigma.  Mental health stigma is a negative perception or judgment people have toward mental illness and/or receiving treatment for mental illness. UCS is aware that mental health stigma affects students on our campus and is designing programs and events to educate and reduce the stigma associated with seeking help.

This year, the following individuals are involved with our advisory board:

Dr. Igor Stanojev, General Engineering
Dr. Elizabeth Gates, Psychology
Katie Digman, Health Promotions student
Mary Jo Booth, Student Health Services
Dr. Sean Shiverick, Psychology
Dr. Arthur Ranney, Media Studies
Emily Garland, Student Senate
Joe Kluever, Student Senate
Becky Haas, Pioneer Involvement Center
Lakisha Clinton, Student Senate
