Choosing to attend UW-Platteville for my undergraduate career was one of the best decisions of my life. UW-Platteville has become my home; from my time with the WEMS Program and participating in the diversity and inclusion activities we coordinate, to my time in Sigma Phi Epsilon and all I have been able to do to help my Fraternity become a positive contributor to this community, UW-Platteville has helped me grow to become a better gentleman.

My name is Doug Posorske and this year will be my fifth year at UW-Platteville as a mechanical engineering major with a minor in business administration. This is my third year as a Senior Assistant within Residence Life and first in Bridgeway Commons. My passion is staying physically active and healthy living, which fits in great at Bridgeway! I am extremely proud and humbled to be able to represent UW-Platteville and my second home.

My name is Jacob Ramos, and I grew up in the very small town of Juda, WI.  Growing up in such a small community has given me great leadership skills as well as a strong work ethic and sense of community.  I have been taught that through optimism, hard work, and cooperation, anything is possible.  I strive for excellence and lead by example to make a positive impact on the lives around me.

Hailing from Winona, Minnesota, Brian Rivers has found a new home in Wisconsin, at Dobson Hall in UW-Platteville. Enthusiastic, emphatic and confident of all he does, Brian has earned the responsibilities of a Resident Assistant; developing the young men and women of Dobson Hall into campus leaders since his freshman year. Never one to resist challenge, Brian hopes to also earn the assured votes of his peers, residents, and superiors while on 2013’s Homecoming Court.

Hi, my name is John Skinkis, and I grew up on a dairy farm in Black Creek, WI.  I’m an Industrial Engineering major with a passion for efficiency and a burning desire to get the job done right. Here at UW-Platteville, I’m involved in a plethora, a real cornucopia if you will, of activities and clubs. I actively participate in Institution of Industrial Engineers, Suite Forum, Catholic Newman Community, and much, much more!

My name is Cassandra Blatz and I am a fifth year senior majoring in ornamental horticulture and minoring in business administration. I have been very involved on campus during my college career including two campus jobs, being a member of five campus organizations and holding offices in those organizations, being a member of the varsity women’s soccer team as well as the women’s club volleyball team, and also volunteering my time on campus.

My name is Sydney Denstorff and I am a senior at UW-Platteville from Carmel, Indiana.  I am majoring in both psychology and criminal justice and I plan to attend graduate school to study forensic psychology.  I am currently the Senior Assistant for Dobson Hall and the National Residence Hall Honorary Vice-President.  My hobbies include dancing, laughing, organizing, reading and watching “Friends.”  I consider myself a friendly person who is also very hard-working and responsible.

“Look! There’s a girl in our class!”  A phrase I have grown fond of as a female engineer at UW-Platteville.  Through numerous societies, I have realized how Platteville makes up not only a nationwide, but a worldwide network of people.   As dance team captain I strive to promote school spirit and enhance other’s Platteville experiences.  Tour guiding gives me the opportunity to tell my Platteville experience in hopes of bringing in many aspiring Pioneers.

I am Jill Herrig and a senior Biology major with a Zoology emphasis and Psychology minor. I’m involved in National Residence Hall Honorary, Kickboxing/Jiu Jitsu club, a Study Abroad Ambassador, and a Resident Assistant. Ever since I graduated high school, I wanted to do something different with my life and coming to Platteville has brought new, more rewarding experiences, while encouraging me to live life to the fullest while being a part of my community.

Hello chickens! My name is Kate Smith. I am a resident assistant in Porter Hall. I was born and raised in Madison, WI and recently moved to DeForest, WI. On campus, I am involved in the National Society of Leadership and Success, National Residence Hall Honorary, and the Society of Women Engineers. I am a junior majoring in mechanical engineering. My dream job would be to work in a research based job designing artificial hearts. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, fishing, going for walks, and discovering new places. My favorite quote is by Albert Einstein, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
