Donna Anderson

DONNA ANDERSON, DIRECTOR

Donna Anderson joined UW-Platteville International Programs in 2003, previously serving as Director of UW-Platteville Education Abroad, and today oversees UW-Platteville Education Abroad and UW-Platteville International Student and Scholar Services.  Providing leadership and support for the comprehensive internationalization of UW-Platteville, Donna works with administration, faculty, and staff to create global opportunities; expand international components of teaching, research, and engagement activities; recruit and support international students and faculty; provide education abroad opportunities; and facilitate development of international partnerships important to UW-Platteville's strategic plan.

In her 14 years of international education administrative experience, Donna has led a number of international initiatives.  She provided administrative support to Loras College's education abroad programs as study abroad coordinator at Loras College and was responsible for the development and management of UW-Platteville's education abroad programs in Fiji, China, and Australia; and has collaborated with numerous faculty at both institutions in the development of short-term programs and exchanges.

Donna earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, in German and Sociology from Luther College and her M.A. degree in Education from Loras College.  Donna's experience with international education began as an undergraduate participating on a short-term faculty-led program to Germany and Austria, followed by a junior-year abroad studying at the Universität Erlangen.  She has studied, worked, volunteered or traveled in more than 30 countries worldwide.

Anthony Coley

Anthony coley, Marketing and Outreach Intern

Anthony Coley is studying business administration with an emphasis in international studies. Anthony became intrigued about international studies after hearing about a friends experience abroad. In spring of 2013 Anthony studied at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in Zwolle, Netherlands. While he was there he had the opportunity to visit: Dublin, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Budapest. Anthony has great interest in Hungarian culture after spending a week with his roommate's family at their home in the village of Vat located on the Hungarian-Austrian border.

Anthony has also been heavily involved on campus with international activities. He recently helped introduce the spring 2014 international students to the University. He will continue to be heavily involved in the International Programs Office because he has developed great passion for it. Anthony would love to offer his experience and knowledge of study abroad to help others follow their dreams of one day being abroad.

Nina Elskamp

NINA ELSKAMP, OFFICE MANAGER

Nina Elskamp joined UW-Platteville Education Abroad in January of 2010. Nina brings to the office her experience at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville both as an employee since October of 2004 and as a student. She is a 1999 graduate and holds a degree in animal science with an emphasis in agribusiness.

Hannah Helwig

Hannah Helwig, Professional Writing Intern

Hannah Helwig is an International Studies and Professional Writing major, who transferred to UW-Platteville in January of 2013. From 2008-2009, she studied abroad in Switzerland through a high school exchange program, and from 2011-2012, she studied abroad through the Hessen Wisconsin Exchange program at the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. She is excited to use her experiences abroad and passion for writing to help and encourage other students to broaden their horizons through education abroad.

Jennifer Krahn

Jennifer Krahn, Outreach Specialist

Jenni Krahn joined UW-Platteville Education Abroad Office in March 2010 as the UW-Platteville Education Abroad Outreach Specialist. Jenni advises students on education abroad options and application proceedures, coordinates UW-Platteville Education Abroad's promotional and outreach efforts, and manages the education abroad and exchange programs that UW-Platteville sponsors.

Jenni is a 2009 graduate of UW-Platteville with a B.S. in Animal Science emphasizing in agribusiness and international studies.  As an undergrad, Jenni participated on two of UW-Platteville's exchange programs at the Dronten University of Applied Sciences (2007-08 academic year) and at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (fall 2009 semester).  While in the Netherlands, she also interned with Lely Industries in Rotterdam doing research.

In addition to her degree from UW-Platteville, Jenni has an Ingenieur degree in International Livestock Production from the Dronten University of Applied Sciences and a M.A. in International Education from the School for International Training (SIT).  Studying abroad truly changed her life, and Jenni is passionate about helping students change their own lives through study abroad.

Nichole Padgett

Nichole Padgett, Professional Writing Intern

Nichole Padgett is a professional writing major interning for UW-Platteville Education Abroad for the spring 2014 semester. She has twice been a host sister through the 4-H exchange program, both times to young Japanese students. That, combined with a love of travel and a love for the Japanese hiragana script, led her to study abroad in Nagasaki, Japan during fall 2013. Homeschooled and a first generation college student, she loves to write fiction and play riichi mahjong.
