Do you want to travel a route that:

  • Makes a difference in society?
  • Requires creative problem solving?
  • Provides an enjoyable and flexible work environment?
  • Encourages forward thinking?
  • Uses all of your skills?
  • Secures your future?

If so, please join us as we explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through interactive, hands-on activities at Reaching for the Sky.

Program Description

Have you ever considered why it seems like the roads are always in need of repair? Had to stop on a dime to avoid a crash? Wondered why texting and driving is such a big deal? Come along on our weekend “road trip” as we navigate the ins, outs, and roundabouts of modern roadways. Fasten your seatbelt − you’ll be in the proverbial driver’s seat for lots of hands-on activities and projects that will take your knowledge of transportation and engineering from 0 to expert in three days’ time. Along the way, you’ll learn about the cool ways engineers, scientists, and mathematicians help our society, meet some inspiring STEM students and professionals, interact and work in teams with other women who share your interest in STEM, and begin to discover new career paths.

Reaching for the Sky is an overnight weekend experience. Participants will stay on campus at the Cooper Living Learning Center residence on the Pioneer Farm.
