Description

A student who wishes to become a Licensed Professional Engineer and work as a design engineer in the area of Microsystems and Nanotechnology is encouraged to follow the ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics with Microsystems and Nanomaterials Engineering emphasis. This degree is accredited and will allow the student to take the Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) exam. As with other ABET degrees, additional requirements beyond their education are needed to take the Professional Engineering (PE) licensure examination.  This emphasis takes the place of a concentration in the Engineering Physics degree.  In contrast to a concentration, however, the emphasis will explicitly be noted in the title of the degree awarded from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Requirements

The Microsystems and Nanomaterials Engineering Emphasis is new as of Fall 2013, and the course of study is still under development.  Students in this degree program are encouraged to work closely with their advisor to select electives that will best support them in their desired career path. Below is the tentative checksheet for the emphasis, which has not yet received university approval.
