resident assistant (RA) 2013-2014

Megan Dietrich is going into her third year at UW-Platteville.  She is a psychology and Spanish major, international studies minor.  This will be her second year both as a resident assistant and as the tutor for the Spanish department.  She is very excited to work with the Global Exploration LLC this year, and is looking forward to studying abroad in Spain during the fall of 2014.  Megan is also a Stop the Hate trainer and strong advocate for tolerance and equality on campus.  Two of the greatest experiences Megan has had have been growing up with two little sisters adopted from India and getting involved with The Alliance at UW-Platteville.  She loves meeting new, unique people and can't wait to work with a wonderful, diverse group of students in the LLC.


Resident Assistant (RA) 2014-2015

Ellary Nemetz is a biology major and this fall will be her second year as a Resident Assistant and her fourth year at UW-Platteville.  She is so excited to work in the Global Exploration LLC since she has a passion for traveling and meeting new people.  She is a pretty active person.  She likes to explore while she is traveling, including scuba diving and snowboarding.  She is involved with the Pre-Health Society on campus and hopes to keep gaining valuable knowledge in the health care field.


Faculty Liaison

Dr. Travis Nelson is a professor of political science specializing in international relations.  His research explores natural disasters and disaster aid, the politics of international sport, and justifications for conflict and war.  His classes cover many areas of international relations, including international security, global economy, and human rights.  He will teach the common course for the Global Exploration LLC, Political Science 1330: International Relations.

Program coordinator

Jenni Krahn joined UW-Platteville Education Abroad office in March 2010 as the UW-Platteville Education Abroad Outreach Specialist. Jenni advises students on education abroad options and application proceedures, coordinates UW-Platteville Education Abroad's promotional and outreach efforts, and manages the education abroad and exchange programs that UW-Platteville sponsors.  She is passionate about intercultural communication and training and is excited to partner with the Department of Residence Life on the Global Exploration LLC.

dobson Resident Director (RD)

Rebecca Groves is the Resident Hall Director for Dobson.  She has her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UWW) in Psychology and Women's Studies.  She deeply enjoys workign with college students and found this passion as an undergraduate Resident Assistant at UWW and that promted her to seek her Master's degree from Western Illinois University in Collge Student Personnel. She is passionate about working with people with disabilities, military personnel, gender issues, and other groups. In her free time she likes to read, listen to music, play trivia, board games, and hang out with friends and family.
