The Academic Planning Council has agreed on a form that will be used to evaluate programs in the future. The BI team, along with Computer Science professor Tom Scanlan, has been gathering the data that will go into this form.  Data includes information about how many employees are in a specific department, the costs of the program, and how many student credit hours (SCH) are generated by that program.  This information comes from PASS, WISDM & HRS.  The work that has been done over this summer will be presented to the entire APC committee this fall for final approval.  We have also been working with Jason Thrun, Lisa Riedle and Dominic Barraclough as part of this process.  Thanks all for your hard work on this! (BR/A)

OIT, MTS & Facilities have been charged with using data to determine how efficiently we use our classrooms. We are currently looking at ways to merge the 7+ data sources that contain information about a classroom. For example, classroom information is found in Excel sheets, Access databases, Oracle, Ad Astra, PASS and EMS to name a few. The goal is to have one place that we can “see” a classroom--how many students it holds, how often it is used, technological attributes of the classroom, when it was last updated, last painted, etc. This will enable UW-Platteville to better prioritize classroom needs going forward.
