About the Library
OFF CAMPUS USERS
Remote access to online library resources is provided to active University of Wisconsin-Platteville students, faculty and staff through a proxy server. Upon linking to one of our subscription resources, you will automatically be prompted to log onto the proxy server. To see an example Login Screen, go to Guide for off-campus users.
The Karrmann Library is a selective Federal Depository Library receiving approximately 10 percent of the U.S. Government publications distributed to depository libraries. The Library is a Wisconsin State Document Regional Depository. The department provides electronic access to government publications via the Internet.
If the journal article you need is not available in full text, UW-Platteville distance education students may request journal articles to be sent or e-mailed directly to their homes. It is now possible for you to use the electronic request forms via the Interlibrary Loan's ILLiad software. You must first obtain your 16 digit pioneer passport number in order to login. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org at 800.362.5460 for this number.
This service may take anywhere from 7 to 21 days, depending on the availability of the article and location of the holding library. Journal articles are photocopied and mailed (or scanned and e-mailed). They are yours to keep.
UW-Platteville distance education students have access to over 100 databases that the Karrmann Library subscribes to. Due to certain licensing agreements, a few databases have restricted their access to the local campus or library proper.
