Foundation Center Independent nonprofit information clearinghouse with a mission to foster public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects.

Grants Information Center UW-Madison Memorial Library's grant information center. "...one of a network of approximately 200 collections established by the Foundation Center, an independent national service organization in New York, to provide an authoritative source of information on foundation and corporate giving."

Grant Writers

Non-Profit Guides: Grant Writing Tools for Non-Profit Organizations An overview of grant writing, with sample proposal summaries, inquiry letters, cover letters, and applications. The site is "specifically designed to assist established, experienced private and public non-profit organizations and entities. The guides will not assist individuals or start-up organizations."

Proposal Writing Short Course This "step-by-step process in the search for private dollars" covers the gathering of background information, the components of a proposal, how to write the executive summary and the project description, etc. A part of the Virtual Classroom from the Foundation Center.
