Greetings from Melcher Hall!

March is here and while you may not be able to tell from the weather Spring Break is right around the corner. March is a very busy month and there are lots of opportunities to stay involved and leave your mark on campus.

Spring break starts Friday March 14th. The Recycling Rooms will be closing between Wednesday and Thursday Night so if you have recycling make sure to take it out to the bin. The building closes at 6p.m. so make sure you have made arrangements for travel and somewhere to stay during spring break. The building will re-open on March 23rd at noon. Please contact your RA or myself if you have any questions regarding the building closing. For extra details see the Check List for Spring Break here.

Academically, March is a very important month. Mid-terms are coming, and it’s really important to be prepared for those exams. If you need some help getting prepared there are multiple resources on campus that can offer assistance. For specific information about those resources please feel free to consult with your RA. Registration for classes begins Monday, March 31st so make sure that going to the Registrar’s Office webpage for information about that process.

A reminder to current freshman in the building, don’t forget to reserve a room for next fall and pay your pre-payment. The UW-System has a two year residency requirement, so you want to make sure you submit your rooming preferences in time! If you have questions about the requirement or sign up, please go here or ask your RA or myself. A failure to comply could delay your class registration process.

Melcher Hall is really happy to serve you.  The staff is always thinking of new ways to get residents involved. There is so much going on in Melcher Hall it would be pretty difficult not to get involved. For students, if you’re having trouble getting involved please feel free to talk with your RA or even come down and see me. If you have any ideas of events you would like to do feel free to share those ideas at the next Hall Council meeting.

See you around!!
