PLATTEVILLE - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Ad Hoc Committee on Internationalizing the Faculty, Staff and Curriculum is staying on target. A mission statement for internationalizing the UWP campus may be forged at the next meeting set for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the Mississippi Room of the Pioneer Student Center.

The ad hoc committee, formed late last year, is designed to deal with vital issues related to internationalizing the UWP campus.

Committee Chair Patrick Hagen, who serves as assistant professor of humanities and foreign language, said the group might also seek outside funding to support the internationalization efforts.

"It is crucial for faculty and staff to become involved in this," said Hagen. "The notions of international issues and opportunities are developed with University teachers who talk about what can be done to facilitate internationalization among students."

A kickoff event, "Act Globally, Teach Locally: A Workshop on Internationalizing UW-Platteville's Faculty, Staff and Curriculum," will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the University Room of the UWP Student Center.
