Hello from Southwest Hall!
It seems like Southwest Hall just opened for the new school year and now we’re just couple a few weeks away from ending the semester. With the end of the semester comes a lot of excitement, information, anticipation, and of course – FINALS.
As you are getting prepped for finals, it’s important to know about all of the resources that are available to use:
• For more information about the finals schedule itself, you can go to http://www.uwplatt.edu/registrar/fallfinals.html
• If you’re having troubles with the coursework, please don’t hesitate to utilize the Writing Center, Math Center, or Tutoring Center. They’re available to assist you so you don’t have to struggle.
• Talk with your RA about study habits as they have some great tips for you to use.
• Finals can be considered overwhelming so make sure you are looking at your schedule and giving yourself the appropriate amount of time to study and to stay organized.
We're almost to the end of the fall semester which means that we are getting prepped for midyear closing. Southwest Hall "closes" (which means it will have limited staff) at 6pm on Friday, December 20th and will "reopen" on Thursday, January 17th at 10am. Due to a majority of students being away for the entire break, every resident will be required to do a check-out with your RA. Your RA will be meeting with you to go over the details more in depth within the next week. Technically, Southwest Hall is open to its residents during the winter break and during Winterim. Due to limited staff working being around, if you are planning on staying in Southwest Hall at any time between Saturday, December 21st and Wednesday, January 16th, you will need to sign up so you can have access to the hall during that time. The sign-up sheet will be at the Southwest Front Desk starting Monday, December 9th.
Lastly, thanks for a great semester that’s been full of memories and fun times. Best of luck on your finals and we look forward to seeing you all back in 2014!
