11.01.13 Position Available - Sunflower Oil Pressing and Bottling

The Sustainable and Renewable Energy program and Office of Sustainability are partnering to produce food-grade sunflower oil for sale. We will press and bottle our sunflower oil in Glenview Commons on the UW-Platteville Campus. We are seeking UW-Platteville student hourly workers to work in three-hour shifts during the weeks of Nov. 21st-Dec. 13th.  We will pay $7.25 / hour. To apply, please complete the below application and submit to sustainability@uwplatt.edu by 5pm Wednesday November 6th.

10.31.13 Organics Class now available!

UW-Platteville is offering a new class this spring: Special Topics in Organic Agriculture. Taught by UW-Platteville Sustainability Coordinator, Amy Seeboth, this 1-credit class is open to any student (there are no prerequisites) and will be held one hour / week. Most weeks we will bring organic growers into the class to share their own personal experiences and answer questions. We plan to take one trip out to visit an organic farm during the semester.

This class is for those who wish to engage in the critical issues of our food system, learn more about farming, and make connections in the field of organic agriculture.

9.30.13 Now Hiring! 

The Sustainability Office is now hiring for two positions: Outreach Assistant and Monitoring Assistant. Both positions, open to UW-Platteville students, average 10 hours / week through May 2014 and pay $10 / hour. Only electronic applications will be accepted.
