University of Wisconsin-Platteville is proud to accomodate a variety of transportation needs. According to the AAA, the average cost of car ownership in 2013, is $9,122 (full report). While you certainly can bring your car to campus, we encourage students, faculty, and staff to consider going car-free in 2013-2014. Not only can leaving your car at home help save money, but it may also help provide some free exercise, improve your mood, strengthen your bones, and even improve concentration & grades.
Here are just some of the ways that you can travel without your car in Platteville next year:
1. Ride the shuttle (choose to live on the shuttle route for added convenience!)
2. Bring your bike.
3. Rent a bike (at Momentum Bikes)
4. Take the Chicago or Madison bus
5. Use Zimride or Rideboard (in the Markee Pioneer Student Center, by the Info Desk)
6. Carpool with a friend
7. Walk!
Please explore the links above to learn more about these and other transportation options available at UW-Platteville, and, as always, don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at all.
