Bachelors of Art in GRAPHIC DESIGN

The graphic design program at University of Wisconsin-Platteville is a 120-credit Bachelor of Arts degree and is focused on the art of imaginative problem solving and how it relates to visual communication. Graphic design is a dynamic field that demands people who are able to meet creative challenges and to push beyond what is expected.

Following the foundation year in the Fine Arts program, students will take courses focusing on typography, print and multimedia design, packaging design, and graphic design history. The graphic design program incorporates traditional and new technologies into a hands-on learning environment. Our students learn how to conceptualize solutions to design situations that encourage critical and creative thinking, promote social awareness, and encourage individual artistic growth and development.

The UW-Platteville Graphic Design program prepares students for professional careers. Students learn a combination of conceptual and technical skills and gain practical experience. A Bachelors of Art in Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin-Paltteville delivers a well-defined knowledge of art and design for students seeking careers as creative designers, multimedia designers, illustrators, web designers, and art directors.
